‘The Sprite Keeper of Cobra Eggs’
This is one of the members of ‘The Original Family’ I began sculpting in 2013: I later made a solid cast pewter stand for this, so, this is a two-part creation in that the Sprite of Cobra Eggs lifts out… She sits on her egg throne which is accompanied by a cobra’s head backstop. Gecko-handed, two belly buttons, part bird and humanoid with levitating tentacles via legs. She is responsible for making sure that all reptile eggs hatch and are destined in the right direction to be species which laid them… A labor of love this sculptural composition, involved, totemic, anchored, quiet and poignantly mysterious.
Bronze sculpture and an archival seal has been applied (will not tarnish).
